Jean B. Dalrymple, 87, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Mercy Living Center – South.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Gus Kiefer, Scott Reed, Kenny Reed, Mark Hansen, David Kiefer, Joe Hayes and Theresia Burman. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Jean B. Specht was born on August 16, 1928 in Ackley, Iowa, the daughter of William and Laura (Yokom) Specht. She was a 1946 graduate of Clinton High School. She married Joseph Stanley on March 28, 1948 in Clinton; he died in May 28, 1978. She later married Robert Dalrymple on November 5, 1994 in Clinton; he died July 10, 2014.
Jean was the executive secretary at the Clinton YMCA for 25 years retiring in 1990.
Jean was a former member of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement, Eastern Star, and a past mother advisor of Rainbow Girls. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Jean is survived by her daughter: Rosemary (John) Seidelmann of Winston Salem, North Carolina, her son: Mark (Diane) Stanley of Spring City, Tennessee; four grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; step-son: David (Mary) Dalrymple of Clinton; two step-grandchildren; three sisters: Bernice Shafer of Fredericksburg, Texas, Vivan Maze of Camanche, Peggy Terry of Albany, Illinois, her brother: Paul Specht of Fulton, Illinois, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother: William.
