Sheryl M. Schutte age 71 of Clinton, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 30th at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rossiter Cemetery, Charlotte. Casket bearers will be David Schutte, Jeff Aude, Ryan Stremlow, Tony Grant, Shaune Kennedy and Matt Schutte. Sheryl was born in Des Moines on December 26, 1944, the daughter of James E. and Lisetta A. (Weber) Gibson. She moved to Clinton in 1952 and graduated from Clinton High School in 1963. She graduated from Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing in 1966. Sheryl married Jimmie Schutte on August 19, 1966 in St. John Lutheran Church, Clinton. Sheryl retired as Co-Director of Nursing at the Alverno Health Care Facility in 2010. She received the Iowa Health Care Association Director of Nursing of the Year in 2007. Sheryl was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was affiliated with the Sisters of St. Francis. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, crocheting, outdoor activities such as fishing with her husband Jim and bon fires with her son James. She and her daughter enjoyed berry picking, canning and making jellies and jams. Sheryl loved her Boston Terriers, Micky and Molly. Sheryl is survived by her husband, Jim; two children, Janet (Mark) Stremlow of Sabula and James A. (Tonya) Schutte and her son, Tristan of Clinton; two grandchildren, Krystle Grant of Clinton and Anthony (Taylor) Grant and their son James Anthony of Cedar Rapids; step-grandchildren Pete and Sarah Stremlow and their children, Lexi, Taylor, Will and Macy; Ryan and Becky Stremlow and their children, Jack and Henry and Mark, Jr. and Elena Stremlow and their children, Sasha, Leeza and Andre. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Duayne. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa Cook Hospice House. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
