Edna Manemann passed away on Monday March 14, 2016 at The Alverno Health Care Facility. A Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Wednesday March 16th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the service hour Wednesday at the church. The Pape Funeral Home will be assisting the family. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be family and friends. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com Edna was born August 17, 1913 near Sabula, IA to Carl and Anna Thede Steenfatt. She attended school in Preston, IA. She married Norbert Manemann on January 12, 1938 in Clinton. He died in 1993. She and her husband farmed the Manemann homestead for many years, retiring in 1970. She also worked for Medical Associates, retiring in 1977. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. Edna’s family was always her greatest interest. She loved making big meals for them, using skills she developed feeding threshers, and continued to make homemade cookies for her great grandchildren at the age of 101. Her other hobbies included sewing, playing cards and bingo. Edna is survived by her son, Joseph (Molly) of Morrison, grandson Jack (Annie) and great-granddaughter Josephine of Chandler AZ, grandson Dan (Amy) and great grandchildren Emily and Brody of Clinton, and a sister Lois Wyatt Knutson of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Irene Lehmkuhl. Memorials may be made to Price of Peace Parish or the Alverno. Edna's family asks close friends and family to plant a tree or flowers in her memory this spring.
