Edward Thomas “Fast Eddie” Rodriguez, 65, of Clinton, went home to be with The Lord Sunday evening, March 13, 2016, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.

He was born November 26, 1950, in Denver, Colorado, to Carl and Virginia (Chavez) Rodriguez. After high school he attended College in Durango, Colorado. He then served in the Army for a brief time where he was a chaplain’s aid. Eddie worked in the concrete industry for 32 years. He was highly recommended for his finishing talents. He was united in marriage to Lorri Petersen December 29, 1984, in Denver. The couple resided in Denver until moving to Clinton in 1999. He became disabled on the job and retired in July of 2001.

Eddie was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Clinton. He always enjoyed helping others in need, especially leading others to Christ. Eddie spent his days riding his bike, working on model cars, reading the Word and attending Man of God meetings. Eddie loved his family dearly and cherished the time that he was able to spend with them, especially his granddaughter, Emma. He was always up for a good cup of coffee with his friends, especially his daughter in laws to be.

Surviving are his wife, Lorri; children, Cole (Erica) Rodriguez, Skyler Rodriguez and Gabriel (Rachel) Rodriguez and a granddaughter, Emma Rodriguez all of Clinton; parents, Carl and Virginia Rodriguez of Denver; siblings, Carol (Robert) Mohr of Kelso, Washington, and Ronald Rodriguez of Denver; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Dustin Rodriguez.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16th at the Church of the Open Door, Clinton. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 17th at the church.
