Alice Nadine Carber, 69, of Low Moor, Iowa, died peacefully at home, March 22, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Alice was born August 2, 1946, to August and Lucille (Anderson) Burmeister, in DeWitt. She graduated from DeWitt Central High School. Alice was united in marriage to Richard Carber on March 20, 1965, at the Methodist church in Low Moor. She retired from G.E. after 26 years. She later worked for Bridges Catering in Princeton, Iowa, until her illness prevented her from continuing.

She was a member of AMVETS and enjoyed cooking, bowling, boating, camping, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially “her babies”.

Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Richard; sons, Richard “Moose” (Jean) Carber of DeWitt, Ronald (Deb) Carber of Fulton, Illinois; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; nieces and nephews; and hundreds of unofficially adopted kids and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and a great-grandson, Roland Carber.

Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 28th at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, in the funeral home. Interment will be at McCausland Cemetery at a later date.
