Funeral services for Bernice Shontz, 77, 2023 Warren St., Davenport, were held Feb. 27 at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland. The Reverends Harold Koenig and J. R. Christenson officiated. Burial was in St. Paul's cemetery, Wheatland.

Mrs. Shontz died at her home Feb. 23

Pallbearers were Roland Fox, Virtus Fox, Donald Fox, Lester Fox, Merlyn Kroh and Merle Bentrott.

Mrs. Shontz was born Aug. 28, 1910 at Wheatland, the daughter of Edward and Bertha Knoche Laschanzky. She attended college in Cedar Falls. She married Harry Shontz in 1942. He died in Dec. 1985. She was a retired school teacher.
