Marilyn J. Barnes, 78, of Camanche, passed away, Monday, February 15, 2016 at her home – Camanche.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, February, 19, 2016 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Barnes, Mike Barnes, Danny Barnes, Jim Fenton, Aaron Andersen, and Seth Andersen. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Marilyn Joyce Barnes was born December 4, 1937 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Leland Morrell and Doris (Young) Bain. She married Donald Barnes on December 31, 1960 in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Marilyn was a homemaker. She studied cosmetology for two years. She enjoyed spending time with family, in her younger years she and her family spent a lot of time on the river and snowmobiling. She was skilled at crocheting and enjoyed Publishers Clearing House.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Donald of Camanche; two daughters: Tycenia “Ty” (Aaron) Andersenof Clinton and Lisa Barnes of Fulton; three grandchildren: Seth and Kelly Andersen of Clinton and Sarah Aurand of Clinton; one great grandson Cade Devon; five siblings: Yvonne (John) Hart of DeWitt, Shelby (Jim) Fenton of Ottumwa, Iowa, Tonyia Bain of Ottumwa, Iowa, Burnaye Murdy of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Marty (Janice) Bain of Ottumwa, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Keith Allen Barnes, one sister Sharon Curtis, and one brother Sonny Bain.
