Lucille Irene Wharff, 95, of Clinton, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Prairie Hills, Clinton.
Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the service hour Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the St. Irenaeus Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Snell-Zornig Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Lucille was born December 9, 1920 in a sod house in Kirk, Colorado, the daughter of Philip and Alice (Chicoine) Bertrand. She graduated from Stratton High School Stratton, Colorado and received her teaching degree from Mount St. Clare College. She married William O. Wharff on October 9, 1948 at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Clinton; he died May 22, 2002.
She had been employed as a teacher and was employed with Clinton Beverage with Schlitz for more than 30 years retiring in 1982.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was a Lifetime member of the Clinton Historical Society.
Lucille is survived by her sister-in-law, Margaret Bertrand of Clinton and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
