Ron Flynn, 67, of DeWitt, died Tuesday evening, February 23, 2016, at home.

Lawrence Ronald Flynn was born March 25, 1948 in Davenport to Lawrence George and Lucille Marie (Ihrig) Flynn. He served in the United States Army National Guard for six years during the Vietnam Era. Ron operated a feed store with his father and worked at the Co-op in Dixon for several years. He was employed by the City of DeWitt Maintenance Department for nearly 25 years, retiring in 2004. Ron married Gloria Atkinson in 1983.

He was a member of the Dixon American Legion and was a lifetime Indianapolis Colts fan. Ron enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, NASCAR and drinking beer.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria; sons, Todd (Tammy) of Lowden, Chad (Justine) of Broomfield, Colorado, Brian (Amy) of Dixon and Brett (Deana) of Broomfield and Tony of Maquoketa; grandchildren, Sawyer, Alexis, Collin, Kevin, McLaine, Zachary, Emily, Tyler, Kyle, Karissa, Miranda and Nick; great-grandsons, Jaxon and Keegan; siblings, Connie Justice, Suzanne McCutcheon, Rita Roberts and Joe (Kathy) Flynn; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ron in death were his parents.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 29, 2016, in the funeral home with Pastor Dianne Prichard officiating. Burial with military rites will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Big Rock.

Pallbearers will be John Justice, Jack McCutcheon, Joshua Roberts, Joey Flynn, Alex Flynn and Ken DeMoss. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Scott, Bob Loose and Rod Binegar.
