Wheatland - Funeral services for Max. H. Ehrke, 58, were held last Thursday afternoon in the Hargrave-Balster funeral home, the Rev. Clarence Koehler officiating. Burial was in St. Paul's cemetery. The bearers were Robert Horstmann, Roger Ruser, Glenn Lee Jr., Thomas Lee, Warren Lee and William Riedesel.
Born near Massillon Sept. 8, 1890, he was graduated from Wheatland high school and attended Brown's business college, Davenport. He married Lillian Brennan in 1915 and for several years was an automobile salesman in Bennett, Tipton and Davenport.
Surviving are a son Everett, Iowa City; a daughter, Mrs. Ken Schricker, Davenport; a brother Harry, Cedar Rapids; four sisters, Mrs. John Ruser, Mrs. George Riedesel and Mrs. Glenn Lee, all of Davenport, and Mrs. Leonard Horstmann, Calamus, and his step-mother, Mrs. Anna Ehrke, Wheatland.
