David K. Johnson age 79 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday Jan. 20, 2016 at Mercy North Medical Center, Clinton. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday Jan. 23rd at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday 11:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Following the memorial service a luncheon will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Fulton, IL. A burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established. Per his family request, attendees are requested to wear Iowa Hawkeye or L.A. Dodgers gear to the ceremony. David was born on May 19, 1936 in Clinton, the son of Clarence and Lillian (Schlemme) Johnson. He married Mary Lou Hilgendorf on Aug. 4, 1956 in Clinton. David worked at the Clinton Standard Brands, (ADM) in the utility processing and refinery for over 41 years; retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Fulton.

David enjoyed raising and showing his St. Bernard dogs, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and working in his yard. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and L.A. Dodgers fan. David was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved his family dearly, and more than anything, enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow-up.

David is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Johnson of Clinton; three children, Richard (Michaele) Johnson, Cathy (Rod) Eversoll, and Ronald Johnson all of Clinton; five grandchildren, Sean (Annette) Johnson, Allie Eversoll, Ethan (Jennifer) Woods, Cody (Sarah) Johnson, and Courtney Johnson; 11 great grandchildren; his brother, Robert Johnson of Clinton; and his man’s best friend, Belle. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Richard, a brother, Jack, an infant sister, Doris, and a grandson, Jason Johnson.
