Dale Ruth Bertramsen age 85 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday January 19, 2016 at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the service time Monday at the church. Following the service, cremation rites will be accorded with burial at a later date in Oakland Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Dale was born in Clinton on May 9, 1930, the daughter of Anton and Esther (Nissen) Bertramsen. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1948. She was employed at E.I. DuPont for 37 years, in the Order and Invoice Section, as purchaser of essential materials, cashier, the traffic department and later as the plant manager’s confidential secretary. She retired in 1985. Dale was a member of Friends of the Library and Zion Lutheran Church where she served on the call committee and church council as well as other committees. She was also a life time member of the Iowa State Women’s Bowling Association serving for 24 years, including 9 as President, and the Clinton Women’s Bowling Association where she served as President and Treasurer. Dale bowled a 300 game in 1963 and at that time it had been 34 years since a woman had bowled a 300 in the state of Iowa. She enjoyed bowling, golfing and ceramics.

Dale is survived by her dear friend Beverly Putman with whom she shared a home for 60 years, two step-sisters; Carol Jean (George) Chalgren of Macon, MO and Marilyn (Richard) Bjornas of Bay Minette, AL, three nieces; Sara (Allan) Taylor of Forney, TX, Debra (Bob) Steiner of Fairfield, CA and Sheila (Charlie) Rowland-Thornton of Salmon, ID, a nephew Eric Bertramsen of Ruidoso, NM, a great nephew Brandon Taylor, a special friend, and pen pal of 70 years Doris (Tony) Verity of Wales, England and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry and a sister Sharon. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
