Charles K. Junge, 69, of Camanche, passed away, Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his home in Camanche.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Camanche VFW. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Shepherd, Ed Bursott, Bob Krajnovich, Fred Barker, Jim Schmerse, and Ed Staszewski. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lary Hagen, Ted Dawson, and Travis Kisner. Visitation will be from 9:00am to the service time Friday at the funeral home.
Charles Kenneth Junge was born on May 30, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa the son of Ralph and Edith (Harrison) Junge. He was a 1965 graduate of Clinton High School and went to Davenport Barber College. He also served two tours in the United States Navy during Vietnam aboard the USS Energy and the USS Engage minesweepers.
Chuck was a barber for 47 years with his brother at the Junge’s Barber Shop.
Chuck was a member of the Camanche VFW, the American Legion in Camanche, and the Clinton AMVETS, he was a VFW Service Officer, Quarter Master, a county commissioner Veteran Affairs in Clinton County, and a coordinator for the VA Van program. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and loved to hunt and work in his yard.
Chuck is survived by his brother: Richard (Kaalen) Junge of Camanche; his nephew: Charles (Joyce) Junge and great-niece: Bethany Junge. He was preceded in death by his parents and his significant other: Taylor Vogue.
Memorials can be made to the VA Van Program.
