Alec D. Horst age 31 of Clinton, died Thursday, January 7, 2016 from injuries received in a car accident near Hanover, IL. Private services will be held on Saturday, January 9th at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa. A memorial has been established.

Alec was born in Clinton on August 29, 1984, the son of Donald and Debra (Petersen) Horst. He graduated from Northeast High School in 2003 and received an Industrial Wiring Degree from NICC in Calmer, Iowa. He was employed with John Deere at the Worldwide Product Development Plant in Silvis, IL. Alec was a member and had been confirmed at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working the family farm, skiing, golfing, skeet shooting, and following the Iowa Hawkeye‘s.

Alec is survived by his parents, Dona and Deb Horst of Clinton; two sisters, Amanda (Scott) Bielema of Fulton and Amber (Toby) Mullins of Clinton; four nieces and nephews, Reata, Rowdy, Addison and Jacob and his grandmother, Genevieve Petersen of Clinton.
