Cheryl A. Pete, 55, of Clinton, passed away, Friday, November 27, 2015 at her home surrounded by family.

A memorial gathering will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 2:00pm. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.

Cheryl Ann Coon was born on March 4, 1960 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Mervil and Alice (Kenan) Coon. She was a 1979 graduate of Clinton High School. She married Stephen Pete in 1994; they later divorced.

Cheryl formerly was the office manager/secretary at Zion Lutheran Church. She loved shopping, watching movies, and spending time with her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter: Alice (Elmer) Pothof of Clinton, Iowa; her son: John Paschall of Texas; four grandchildren: Stephanie, Mycheala, Johnney, and Emily; her siblings: Jack Kensinger of Waterloo, Iowa, Brent (Wanda) McNab of Arizona, Nancy James of Clinton, Iowa, Tom (Marlene) Coon of Freeport, Bob (Janice) Coon of Barstow, Illinois, James (Sue) Coon of Clinton, Iowa, Howard Coon of Fulton, Illinois, and Steve Coon of Chandler, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Sally Petersen and Janice Coon-James.
