Jane Leona Lum Munksgaard, 91, of Camanche, Iowa, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Alverno in Clinton. Services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Jane was born August 28, 1924 in Camanche, the daughter of Wallace Voorhees and Eva Mae (Cousins) Lum. She was educated in the Camanche Schools from grades 1 through 10; graduated from Clinton High School in 1941 and AIC Business College, Omaha, NE. She later acquired her Certified Municipal Clerk designation, which she earned at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa over three summers. She completed this distinction in the first class in Iowa for this certification. Jane married Arnold L. Munksgaard May 18, 1946; he died June 1, 1975.

Jane was employed with the City of Camanche as city clerk from 1962 to 1989; she had also been employed with Western Union Telegraph from 1948 to 1962, Union Pacific Railroad from 1942 to 1947 and with Wallace Lum Lumber & Coal in Camanche prior to that.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Camanche; past member of the Order of Eastern Star; past president of the Camanche PTA; past member of the Rose Hill Cemetery Board; past member of Camanche Historical Society and past member of the Camanche Recreation Commission.

Survivors include her sons, Larry (Anne) Munksgaard of Lincoln, NE and Donald G. Munksgaard of West Palm Beach, FL; granddaughters, Karin A. Munksgaard, Jane E. Munksgaard and Kim D. Munksgaard; grandson, Daniel C. Munksgaard; great grandchildren, Nicholas and Marit and sister, Doris Dockstader of Rochester, MN.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and special friend Wilfred E. McDonald.
