William (Bill) Lathrop, 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, at University of Iowa Hospitals. The family will be holding a memorial dinner and social time to celebrate Bill’s Life. Family and friends are invited to 1804 N. 2nd Street, Clinton, Iowa from 1-8 pm on Friday, October 15, 2015. There will be no funeral service. Bill was born September 8, 1940 to Marion Lathrop and Alfrieda Otto in Clinton, Iowa. From his earliest age, Bill did not like being indoors. Quitting school early, he chose instead to travel with his uncles and their carnivals, enjoying the midway of the carnival life for many years.
Later on in life he became a long-haul trucker, a hammer down kind of driver. His travels covered the entire USA.
He met and married his soul-mate RaeAnn Franzen, who preceded him in death in 2014.
Throughout his life and travels Bill had a belief and faith that the universe would always provide for and protect him.
Bill is survived by a son, Rusty, from Texas, and a step-daughter Sierra, from Louisiana. Three brothers, Dave, Mickey, and Paul. Three sisters Mary, Penny, and Bev, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him were his parents, and two brothers, Don and Larry.
