Jean D. Crider, age 86, of Clinton, Iowa passed away October 16, 2014 at her home. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church in Fulton. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Andover Cemetery, Andover, Iowa with a luncheon to follow at the church. Family and friends will later meet in the banquet hall at Manny’s in Fulton. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Casket bearers will be Rocco Maresca, Tom Dithmart, Jason Maresca, Jerry Woods, Juli Maresca, and Justice Foley. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Bark, Gerald Farr, and Norman Shepherd.
Jean was born in Clinton, Iowa on June 21st 1930 to parents Edith Wenzel and Andrew Dithmart. She married Robert Crider on December 13th, 1947. Robert passed away on June 4, 2014. Jean was always proud of her South Clinton heritage, which she said taught her loyalty and the value of both family and community. Jean will be remembered by all for her charismatic personality, always sharing her light-heartedness and laughter. Her biggest commitment to this world was her family, always giving to them compassion and unconditional love. Jean left this world surrounded by her family knowing how much she, too, was loved.
She is survived by children, Thomas Crider (wife Joan Crider) of Clinton, Iowa; Carolyn Maresca and husband Rocco Maresca of Davenport, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; and her brother Bob Dithmart, wife Vicky, of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers (Dale, Gary, Jack), and daughter-in-law (Victoria).
