DEWITT, Iowa — Harry Lee “Bino” Garrity, 77, of DeWitt, died Saturday evening, Oct. 24, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport. Harry was born June 23, 1938, to Harry and Eileen (Quinn) Garrity in Clinton. After graduating from St. Ambrose High School in Davenport, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Harry was united in marriage to Shirley Ericksen on April 15, 1967, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. He worked for International Harvester/Case IH as an active member of the UAW Local 1304 for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He then worked for Laborers Local 309, Rock Island, until 2010.

Harry attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. He stayed busy helping family and friends and enjoyed “discussing” world events and spending time near the Wapsi. Harry loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Harry is survived by his wife, Shirley; his sons and their families, Paul and his daughters, Alisa and Bailey; Shane and Becky and their sons Albert and Troy; and Jeff and Keli and their children, Kati and Zackary, all of DeWitt; siblings, Nancy (Jim) Waack, Michael (Diane) Garrity, and Joe (Bonnie) Garrity; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William; and a nephew, Michael Waack.

Visitation will be from 9-11:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt. Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at noon in the church. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
