Funeral services for W. A. "Bill" Petersen, 79, Wheatland, were held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 26, 1988 with the Rev. Harold Koenig officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Knoche, Bob Knoche, Ben Knoche, Brian Woods, Mike Petersen and Dave Petersen. August Knoll was the organist and Kathy Patterson was the soloist.

Mr. Petersen died Nov. 22 at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home.

The son of Henry and Christina Scheen Petersen, he was born Aug. 12, 1909 at Big Rock. He married Jeanette Knoche Oct. 28, 1933 in Davenport. He operated a welding and repair shop in Big Rock for 41 years. He lived in Wheatland 13 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Don (Lynn) Leavens, Clinton; a son, Don, Wheatland; 7 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife and 2 brothers.
