DeWitt - Mrs. Nettie Clement

Mrs. Nettie Clement, 96, of DeWitt, a native of near Low Moor, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday (November 12, 1966) in the Delmar nursing home where she had been a patient two years.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the McGinnis funeral home at DeWitt, with Rev. Lester Olson of the Congregational church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home.

Nettie Gibson was born Jan. 3, 1870 to Merritt and Margaret Dawson Gibson. She married Thomas Clement, Feb. 15, 1888, in the home of her stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pelham of Malone, west of Low Moor. The couple farmed near Malone until retiring in 1912 to DeWitt. Mrs. Clement was a member of the Congregational church, its Women's fellowship, and of the Ladies of the G.A.R.

Survivors are a daughter, Mr. Margaret Prehn of DeWitt; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a half-brother, Jay Pelham of DeWitt.
