Funeral services for Cyrena Walter Pelham, 84, retired businessman of here, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Wesley Methodist church here following a prayer services in the home of his son, Norris Pelham. Organist, Mrs. Lloyd Steffens, accompanied the sextette girls junior choir of the church. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery (Calamus, IA). Rev. Donald Litchenfelt, pastor, officiated.

Pallbearers were Dan Anderson, Louis Schlotfeldt, Lowell Petersen, Max Dosland, Ernest Raiber and Lyle Goettsch. In charge of flowers were Mrs. Raymond Neff, Mrs. Dan Anderson, Mrs. Lester Marron and Mrs. Arthur Traver.

Cyrena W. Pelham, son of Walter and Eliza Draper Pelham, was born Aug. 6, 1872, at Malone, Iowa. He was married to Miss Mabel Morgan of Calamus on Dec. 25, 1895. He worked at the grain elevator and later became a carpenter. He owned and operated a service station here starting in 1929. He was also a member of the city council for several terms and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include one son, Norris, and two grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, a half brother and one grandson.
