Donald E. Parker, 86, of Camanche, passed away, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center – North Campus, Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Camanche VFW. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00am to the service time at the funeral home. Donald Eugene Parker was born on June 6, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Milton C. and Beatrice (Healless) Parker. He was a 1947 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Joan Killean on September 3, 1949 in Clinton.
Don served in the United States Army’s 25th Division 27th Regiment Wolf Hounds during the Korean War from 1951-1953.
Don was employed at DuPont for 39 years retiring in 1984 as a supervisor.
Don enjoyed watching Camanche athletic teams.
Don is survived by his wife: Joan of Camanche; two sons: Thomas (Lisa) Parker of Camanche and James (Kerry) Parker of San Francisco, California and five grandchildren: Alisha (Caleb) Dirks, Clairissa (Nick) Sorensen, Reid Parker, Meredith Parker, and Madeline Parker. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and five sisters.
