Victor L. Winkelmann, 83 of Camanche, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Prairie Hills in Clinton.

Services will be at held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Catholic Church of The Visitation, Camanche. Visitation will be from 3 PM to 7 PM Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche. Pallbearers will be Patrick MacManus, Taylor Winkelmann, Travis Winkelmann, Shane Bark, Jeff Shaw, Sr. and Rod Laughlin.
Victor was born November 27, 1930 in Rhineland, Missouri, the son of Julius and Louisa Winkelmann. He was a Clinton High School graduate. Victor married Marian Gaffey on October 2, 1954 in Morrison, IL.
He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Visitation, Camanche and helped with building the church. He received an award from Gov. Terry Branstad for his volunteer work and was a blood platelet donor with the American Red Cross for many years.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War.
He was employed at E. I. DuPont for many years prior to retiring.
Victor is survived by his wife, Marian of Camanche, son, Kenneth J. (Donita) Winkelmann of Lebanon, MO; daughter, Diane McManus of Camanche; grandchildren, Taylor Winkelmann, Travis Winkelmann, Karen Bark, Michelle McManus and Patrick McManus; great-grandchildren, Cade and Avery Winkelmann and Jocelyn Bark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and his son-in-law Thomas McManus.
