The Clinton Herald Thursday February 1, 1962 p. 8 Peter J. Orte, 85, died this morning in his home at 2205 Camanche Ave. He had been in failing health the past few years. The body is at the Snell Smith funeral home where friends may call beginning at noon Friday. Services will be Saturday, time to be announced later. He was born Feb. 10, 1876 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Orte, and came to Clinton in 1888. He was married in 1904 to Anna Ipsen in Clinton. He had been employed at Clinton Corn Processing Co. for 38 years, retiring 15 years ago. He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood and the 25 year club at Clinton Corn. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Milton (Helen) Kuntz of Morgan Citry, La., Mrs. Marvin (Alice) Nelson and Mrs. Anton (Marian) Kunavich, both of Clinton, Mrs. James (Elizabeth) Robbins of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Mrs. Louis (Loretta) Wunkoop of Lincoln, Neb.; three sons, Raymon, Albert and Kenneth, all of Clinton; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, one daughter and several brothers and sisters.
