Edward Henry Truninger, 86, of Clinton, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, October 24, 2014 in Clinton.

Services will be at held 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 3 PM to 6 PM Monday, October 27, 2014 at the funeral Home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, where military honors will be conducted. Pallbearers will be his four grandchildren and his sons Mark and Jeff Truninger.
Edward H. Truninger was born September 12, 1928 in Savanna, IL, the son of Kenneth and Blanche (Law) Truninger. He attended Savanna High School, graduating in 1946. He married Dorothy Rajcevich July 12, 1953 in Clinton, IA.
He was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Later in life, Dorothy and he became snow birds and wintered in Las Vegas.
He was an excellent electrician and was employed at DuPont for 32 years, retiring in 1985.
Ed was a U.S. Army veteran. He received the Bronze Star while serving in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952.
Ed is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Clinton; sons, Mark (Gina) Truninger of Clinton and Jeffrey (Lynn) Truninger of Roseville, MN; 4 grandchildren, Derek (Aria) Truninger, Matt (Randi) Truninger, Tricia Truninger and Tim Truninger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeanette and brother, Jason.
