The Clinton Herald Monday March 18, 1968 p. 5 Joseph Kearney, 48, lifelong resident of Clinton county, died unexpectedly about noon Sunday at his home in DeWitt. Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic church with Rev. Francis P. Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph's cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McGinnis funeral home where friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Joseph Kearney was born Dec. 5, 1919 at DeWitt to Michael and Anna Boyle Kearney and married Lois Ann Tuchfarber on April 16, 1945 in Davenport. He had been a salesman for the Morton International Co. and was a member of the Elks lodge in Davenport. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Patrick at Ames, William of Cedar Rapids, Joseph and Mathew, both at home; four daughters, Kathleen, Karen, Maureen and Ann, all at home; his mother of Davenport; two sisters, Mrs. William Troy of DeWitt and Mrs. Graham McQueeney of Chicago and two brothers, Francis of DeWitt and Vincent of Clinton. The was preceded in death by his father.
