The Clinton Herald; Saturday December 10, 1938 p. 8 Mrs. W.H. Gribbon, 66, died about 6:40 p.m. Friday in her home, four miles northwest of DeWitt, after a two years illness. Funeral services will be held Monday morning in St. Joseph's church, with burial in St. Joseph's cemetery. Mrs. Gribbon was born Oct. 1, 1872 in Lanesboro, Minn., the daughter of Patrick and Anna Redmond. She was married to W.H. Gribbon, Jan. 23, 1894 in Lanesboro. For many years they have been residents of this vicinity. Surviving are the husband; seven children, James, Henry, William, Jack, Mrs. Mary McDonald, all of DeWitt, Lucille of Davenport, and Mrs. Mildred Wolfe, Lost Nation; four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Stella Dooley and Mrs. Charles Hoefer, both of Portland, Ore., Mrs. R.J. McDonald, San Francisco, Mrs. Frank Sullivan, Davenport, Edward Redmond, Portland, Ore., Jack Redmond, Tacoma, Wash., and Dan Redmond, DeWitt. One sister and four brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Gribbon was a member of St. Joseph's church, and of the Altar and Rosary society.
