The Clinton Herald Tuesday December 27, 1955 p. 15 Last rites for Mrs. Richard Welsh of the rosary at 9 a.m. in the McGinnis funeral home, DeWitt, follewed by the requiem high mass at 9:30 in St. Joseph's Catholic church. Rev. E. Cone, pastor, was celebrant and gave the funeral sermon. In the sanctuary were Rev. Thomas Stratman, DeWitt; Rev. John Kennedy, Petersville, and Rev. Harold O'Connor, Lost Nation. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery, with Father Stratman officating at the grave. Pallbearers included Frank Mulholland, Steve Hart, Cleo McDermott, M.F. Hines, Thomas Guinan and William Spain. Among those attending from out of town wre A-2C Richard E. Welsh, Castle air force base, Calif.; S.R. Alan Connell, naval training station, Great Lakes, Ill., and others from Emerson, S.D., Bremerton, Wash., Iowa City, Chicago, Champaign,Ill., Clinton, Dubuque, Maquoketa, Davenport, Delmar, Welton, Grand Mound and Elwood.
