Dr. Patrick Thomas Keefe Sr., 78, of DeWitt, died peacefully in his home, early Thursday morning, September 11, 2014.

Patrick Keefe was born March 6, 1936, in Charles City, Iowa, to Thomas James and Mary (Campbell) Keefe. After graduating from Charles City High School, he attended the University of Iowa and then Graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He went on to teach at Palmer finally retiring as Dean of Continuing Education. Dr. Keefe also maintained a private practice in Eldridge, Iowa, for more than 30 years. He was united in marriage to Rosemary Grein. She preceded him in death on September 13, 2011.

Dr. Keefe was a member of the Springbrook Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with his family, and was an avid Hawkeyes fan.

Survivors include his children, Patrick Thomas Keefe Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama, Kristie (Kevin) Tomlinson-Kelleher of Three Oaks, Michigan, Thomas James (Kris) Keefe of DeWitt; grandchildren Mary Jane, Anna, Morgan, Maddie, Grady, Lilly and Kassi; great-grandchildren, Patrick James, Piper, and Ramsey; sister-in-law, Lola Keefe; nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Beverly Bartleson of Clear Lake, Iowa.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, Rosemary, he was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Thomas James and Joseph C. Keefe, and a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Duwayne) Wessels.

At his request, no visitiation or service will be held.
