Maleta Louise Bott, 93, of Clinton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center – Clinton.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Friday, July 18, 2014 at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery, following the lunch at Zion Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home, and from 10:00 am until the service hour Friday at the funeral home. Maleta L. Schroeder was born on March 26, 1921 in Jackson County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Louise (Milder) Schroeder. She married Alvin Bott on June 25, 1943 in Missouri; he preceded her death on July 19, 1983.
Maleta attended Jackson County School. She was a homemaker and farmed in the Andover area until 1969.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose Lodge. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, shopping at Farm & Fleet stores for Alfred Dunner clothes and going to the casino. She especially enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Maleta will be missed by her three children: Sharon (Joe) Hill of Camanche, Linda Goodsman of Clinton, and Ken (Kathy) Bott of Clinton, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters: Laura Turner of Clinton, Vera Migawa of Clinton, Alberta Mommsen of Clinton, Maxine Kuehl of Clinton, Clara Hall of Bullhead, AZ and Loretta Sullivan of Clinton; brother, William Schroeder of Clinton; brother-in-law, Jerry Smith of Clinton; sisters-in-law, Mary Schroeder of Austin, MN, Audrey Schroeder of Camanche and Grace Schroeder of Mareneo, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, two sisters, three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
Memorials may be made to the Clinton or Camanche Fire Departments
