Lois J. Mellen age 94 of Clinton, passed away Thursday Aug. 14, 2014 at Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton. Funeral mass will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Immaculate Conception Church in Fulton, IL. Visitation will be held Sunday noon until 1:30 PM at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com

Lois was born on June 1, 1920 in Sabula, IA, the daughter of Glen and Susan (Norton) Harrison. She graduated from Lyons High School. She married Robert G. Mellen Jr. in 1946 in Clinton, he died in 1985. Lois was a homemaker and a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the Mercy Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and her animals.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Susan VanHyfte of Clinton; a son, Robert Mellen III of Clinton; 5 grandchildren, Tracy (Tony), Jason (Hannah), Jennifer, Katey, and Ann (Kevin); and 7 great grandchildren, Madison, Brady, Justin, Tyler, Corynna, Madyx, and Josephina. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Brian, a sister, Edith, and a son-in-law, Fred.
