Wilma C. Kimball age 96 of Camanche passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Union Cemetery near Maquoketa, Iowa. Casket bearers will be Jason Kruse, James Kruse, Steve Tubbs, Ashley Kruse, Amberlyn Kruse and Emery Kruse. Honorary casket bearer will be Charles Kimball. Memorials may be made to the Camanche Public Library.

Wilma was born in Maquoketa on November 4, 1917, the daughter of Roy and Clara (Meinke) Dyer. She was educated in Maquoketa and Elwood Schools. She received a teaching certificate from Junior College in Maquoketa and taught at the North Bend School, a one room school house, near Spragueville. Wilma met Willis Kimball and they were later married in California, where Willis was stationed while in the service. They lived in Portland, Oregon before moving to Des Moines where Wilma worked for the U.S. Government Soil Conservation Department. Following Willis’s death on November 3, 1975 Wilma moved to Camanche.

Wilma was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Camanche and the Retired Federal Employee’s. She was a very accomplished seamstress. She loved to sew and work with fabric. She did volunteer work at the Camanche Public Library and other organizations around Camanche. Wilma enjoyed spending time with family, friends and her special backyard neighbor, whom she visited every day. She did a lot of reading and was always up to date on current events.

Wilma is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Ruth Kruse and Grace Tubbs. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
