Helen A. Harksen age 73 of Clinton passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1: 00 to 3:00 P.M. Friday, July11, 2104 at the Pape Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Helen was born in Clinton on March 6, 1941, the daughter of Delbert and Marian (Sleeper) Harksen. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1960. Helen had been a homemaker and caregiver for her parents in their senior years.

Helen enjoyed spending time with her family first and foremost. In past years she enjoyed fishing, camping, baking, traveling, playing cards, reading and playing Bingo at the Moose Lodge. Helen was an avid animal lover and Chicago Cubs fan. Recently, she has enjoyed crocheting and crafts, and playing Canasta with her granddaughter Jessica and always had time for a good board or card game with Alexis, her niece that she watched.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Kim (Jeff) Bielema of Clinton; granddaughter, Jessica Bielema of Clinton; a brother, Allen (Jan) Harksen of Morrison; nieces, Teresa, DeeAnna and Robyn; a nephew, Robert and a special great niece Alexis, and a Grand Dog Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Charles Schutte and a nephew, Randy Harksen. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
