Mr. Carl W. Feddersen, 82, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Saturday afternoon, August 2, 2014, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Carl William Feddersen was born December 23, 1931, in Davenport, Iowa, to John and Velma (Chrysler) Feddersen. On March 6, 1953, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Fellner at the United Presbyterian Church in Davenport, Iowa. The couple resided in the DeWitt area where they raised their family. Carl was employed at Montgomery Elevator in Moline for many years, retiring as a foreman in 1984. He then worked in various positions over the years around the DeWitt area.

He enjoyed working hard, fishing, playing cards and checkers, and drinking PBR. Carl could be seen often driving his golf cart, “Carl’s Cadillac,” around DeWitt.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; children, Carol (Joe) McDevitt, DeWitt, Wayne (Connie) Feddersen, Port Byron, Illinois, Linda (Dan) Fowlkes, Davenport, Patty Pieczynski, Lori (Dean) Holst, Nancy (J.) Holt, all of DeWitt; 24 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; a brother, Don (Janice) Feddersen of Davenport; sisters, Jean Bender and Ann (Rich) Lausen of Davenport; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Carl in death were a daughter, Sharon; his parents; and brothers, Wayne, Kenny, Dick, Jack and Glenn.

The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Funeral Home with Pastor Dianne Prichard officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Memorials are suggested to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or Westwing Place.
