Theodor Philip Strunk, 89, of Clinton, Iowa passed away Monday, May 05, 2014 at the home of his daughter in Oakdale, MN. Memorial services will be held at 3 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with arrangements. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery, where the Clinton AMVETS will provide full Military honors.

Theodor was born August 3, 1924 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Leopold and Elizabeth (Paul) Strunk. He was a Clinton High graduate and also a graduate of Coe College, Cedar Rapids. He married Doris Ruth Kahler on September 18, 1949, she passed away in 1997.

Theodor was a Chemist at Clinton Corn Processing and Nabisco Brands for more than 30 years.

Theodor was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, serving with the Sea-Bees.

He had been a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Chancy Lutheran and Immanuel Lutheran in Camanche. Theodor was a huge stamp collector and an avid drinker of the wine he made in his basement.

Survivors include his daughter, Shari (Jim) Hollenkamp of Oakdale, MN; sons, Phil Strunk of Los Angeles, CA; and Tim Strunk of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and grandchildren, Jim, Scott and Heather Hollenkamp.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents a sister and a brother.
