Elaine McCormack Shannon age 86 of Clinton passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Pape Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Elaine was born in Garden Plain, IL on August 1, 1927, the daughter of Clifford and Johanna (Wiersema) Parker. She attended country schools in Garden Plain and graduated from Lyons High School in 1945. Elaine married Robert McCormack on February 11, 1951 in Clinton. Robert passed away on October 4 1983. She later married George Shannon on June 21, 1995 in Clinton. George passed away on June 20, 2006. Elaine had been employed with Schick Hospital, Iowa State Bank and E.I. DuPont. She was a member of the Miles Presbyterian Church.

Elaine is survived by a sister, Audrey Williams of Louisville, KY; four brothers, Darrell “Bud” (Lou) Parker of Clinton, Paul (Barb) Parker of Rock Island, Cliff (Tina) Parker of Fort Meters, FL and Walt Parker of Cannon Falls, MN; a step-daughter, Coralie (Jim) Beck of Sabula; two step-sons, Curt (Deb) Shannon and Todd (Renee) Shannon both of Miles; eight step-grandchildren; nine step-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her caring and loving friends, Maudie Stoltenberg and Carol Frahm. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two sisters, Marge and Carol; three brothers, Roland, Irvin and Bob and a sister-in-law, Peggy Shafer.
