Dwight M. “Boots” Shaw age 84 of Camanche, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at his home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Pape Funeral Home. Cremation rites will follow with burial at a later in Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche.
Boots was born in Clinton on May 27, 1930, the son of Harry and Laura Belle (Hatfield) Shaw. He married Betty L. Sinkey on September 7, 1948 in Clinton. Betty passed away on February 5, 1994. Boots was a heavy equipment operator with Local #150, Rock Island. Boots was a member of the Local #150 for over 50 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing, motorcycling, had played the drums in a band in his younger years and loved tinkering in his garage, working on cars.
Boots is survived by his partner of 18 years, Rosetta Reinhart; seven children; Konnie L. Huizenga of Camanche, twins Roger (Therese) Shaw and Rick (Peggy) Shaw, Linda Sibley, Marojie (John) Maschmann, Myrlene “Itsie” Turner and Karla (Bill) Trude all of Clinton; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a brother, Donald (Ann) Shaw of Camanche. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two grandchildren, Korey and Katie and a brother, Raymond Shaw, Sr.
