Edna D. Knutsen, 85, of Clinton, Iowa, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at Wyndcrest Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Michael Holm will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Pape Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. Friday until the service hour at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Andresen, Kurt Steiner, Jonathan Sukut, Paul Luthy, John Loots and David Paulsen.
Edna was born May 14, 1918, in Charlotte, Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Emma Bielenberg Rickertsen. She married Syrennus Knutsen on April 27, 1935, in Charlotte. He died in 1988. Edna was a homemaker and she and her husband farmed near the Ten Mile for many years. She also worked at AC Nielsen Co. for over 10 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was active with the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed playing cards and gardening.
Edna is survived by her two daughters, Alice Machande, of Clinton, Iowa and Mrs. Elaine (Robert) Andresen, of Duluth, Ga.; her son, Allen (his wife, Janet) Knutsen, of Clinton; and her brother, Orville (his wife, Margarette) Rickertsen, of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
