Ryan Matthew McLaughlin, 15, of Charlotte died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, DeWitt. The Rev. Ginger Taylor will officiate.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Pallbearers will be members of Boy Scout Troop 264.
Visitation was 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.
Ryan was born November 6, 1988, in DeWitt to Matthew and Sandra Rusch McLaughlin. He was a freshman at Northeast High School, Goose Lake. Ryan loved sports and was active in Football and in Track, in which he ran hurdles.
He was also involved in 4-H, Boy Scouts and the gifted student program. He loved the outdoors and the time he spent at Lake Okoboji; he was fisherman of the week several times while there.
Ryan was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, DeWitt.
He remembered others at the end of his life through organ and tissue donation.
Surviving are his parents; a sister, Mallory; grandparents, Glen and Jean Rusch of DeWitt and Catherine McLaughlin of Charlotte; an aunt, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather and an aunt.
Memorials may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ.
