Services for Walter Eberhart, 51, mayor of Charlotte, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Assumption Catholic Church, Charlotte. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Friday at Hanrahan Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Mr. Eberhart was dead on arrival Tuesday at DeWitt Community Hospital, following an apparent heart attack while fighting a fire at a neighbor's house.
In addition to being mayor, he was custodian at Northeast Community Schools.
Mr. Eberhart married Carole Ketelsen in 1958 in Charlotte.
He was a volunteer fireman and director of Solid Waste for Clinton County.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Shelly) Mohr, Goose Lake, and Patti Eberhart, at home; a son, Andrew, at home; a grandchild; sisters, Mrs. Wesley (Mary) Witt and Mrs. Maurice (Alice) Butt, both of Charlotte; Mrs. Gerald (Rose) O'Meara, Schaller; Mrs. Tom (Helen) Burken, Camanche; and Mrs. Don (Janet) Parker, Warsaw, Ind.; and brothers, William, Delmar; Robert, Charlotte; Earl, Taylor Ridge, Ill.; and Joseph, Davenport. Also surviving are his parents, Albert and Rosa Eberhart of Charlotte. 1981
