Marvin “Bump” Kosin, Jr, 63, of Fulton, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics – Iowa City, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am, Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Mussmann Tim Mussmann, Shawn Stickell, John Crowley, Mitch Tiesman, and Chuck Selser. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Matt Lorenzen, Mike Lorenzen, Mark Tiesman, and Jodi Vicknair. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the funeral home. Marvin Herman Kosin, Jr, was born October 29, 1950 the son of Marvin and Margaret (Snodgrass) Kosin. He was a 1968 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Charm Lorraine on December 6, 1969 in Clinton.
Bump was employed as a welder with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad from 1970-1995, transferring to DeSoto, Missouri with the Union Pacific in 1995 until retiring in 2010.
Bump enjoyed turkey and duck hunting, and fishing on the Mississippi River. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.
Bump is survived by his wife: Charm of Fulton; his daughter: Michelle (Eric) Jesus of Mountain View, California; his son: Marvin Kosin, III, of Clinton, Iowa; one graddaughter: Ashlyn Manninen; four sisters: Sharon (Steve Charnoski) Stickell of Camanche, Rae Ann (Russell) Mussmann of Camanche, Linda (Robert) Sykes of Orange Park, Florida, and Sally Crowley of Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
Bump was preceded in death by his parents.
