Helen J. Erps, 85, of Camanche, passed away, Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Alverno.

Funeral Services will be 10:30am Saturday, April 19, 2014 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Dankert, Jay Dankert, Jamie Erps, Kevin Erps, Justin Pingel, Jared Pingel, Derek Holle, Eric Nissen, and Nathan Nissen Visitation will be Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Helen Jean Moeller was born on September 7, 1928 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Ferdinand “Fred” and Hilda (Dietz) Moeller. She married Ralph Erps on May 11, 1946 in Davenport; he died June 4, 1993.

Helen was employed at Jim Walter Windows from 1968 until her retirement in 1982.

Helen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche, the Red Hat Society, volunteered at the Camanche Meal Site, played in many card clubs, gala girls, fun friends, and mini muffins. She enjoyed going to the casino and bowling. She also enjoyed going shopping with her children.

Helen is survived by five daughters: Beverly (Douglas) Ferguson of Davenport, Iowa, Linda (Ken Parkinson) Pingel of Camanche, Iowa, Cindy (Sam) Yates of Clovis, New Mexico, Vickie (Fred) Passig of Low Moor, Iowa, Lisa Erps of Woodstock, Georgia; one son: James (Deborah) Erps of Clinton, Iowa; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and her sister: Gladys Wells of Yuma, Arizona.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter: Joyce, five brothers, and two sisters.

Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Assocation, the Alverno, or Immanuel Lutheran Church – Camanche.
