CLINTON — Margaret "Peg" L. Sattizahn, 94, of Clinton passed away Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Alverno.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Monday at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting her obituary at www.snellzornig.com.

Margaret Chapman was born Oct. 19, 1919, in Silvis, the daughter of Harold and Edith (Fredrickson) Chapman. She married Frank Sattizahn on Aug. 16, 1941, in Silvis. He died Feb. 6, 2009.

Peg was a graduate of United Township High School in East Moline and the University of Illinois in 1940.

Peg was a homemaker. She was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church and the Miriam Rebecca church circle. She was a member of PEO Chapter FI, the Lyceum Book Club and Tri-S. She volunteered over 8,000 hours with the former Jane Lamb Agatha Auxiliary and the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bridge, playing in the same bridge club that she founded in 1947. She participated in the Women's Health Initiative at the University of Iowa for 10 years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and participated in the Friendship Force.

Survivors include daughters, Kay (Dennis) Henning, Wilton, Iowa, and Judy (Bob) Wolfensperger, Jacksonville, Fla.; sons, John (Kathy) Sattizahn of Fort Mill, S.C., Richard (Melody) Sattizahn, Centennial, Colo. and Mark Sattizahn, Erie, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; and her sister, Janet Drayer of Prospect, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Genesis Hospice.
