Deloris Kay Schmidt, 68, of Clinton, passed away, Monday, March 24, 2014 at the University of Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM, Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held from 8:30Am until the service hour Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew and Nathen Schmidt, Dick Junge, Mike Dodd, Steve Birdsley and Todd Moore.

Deloris was born December 4, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Preston and Doris (Werderman) Charlson. She married Dave Schmidt July 5, 1975 in Hanover, Illinois.

She had been employed at Potter’s Green House, Elmwood Dairy and most recently at Wal-Mart.

Survivors include her husband, Dave of Clinton; children, Kim (Todd) Moore of Clinton: Mike (Kelley) Dodd of Clinton; Matt (Kari) Schmidt of Council Bluffs, IA and Nate (Tiffany) Schmidt of Clinton; 11 grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Kaa (Dick) Junge of Camanche, Ken (Anita) Charlson of Clinton and Diane (Steve) Birdsley of Clinton.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to the Clinton Humane Society.
