Jay Keiller was born on January 12, 1948 in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Francis “Ed” and Irene (Beauvais) Keiller. Jay graduated from Savanna High School in 1966, graduated from Clinton Community College. He married Ruth Faust on November 1, 1975 in Savanna. He later graduated from Mt. St. Clare in 1991.

Jay was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea and Vietnam from 1966-1969 and made a very prosperous life for himself and his family upon his return stateside.

He was an asset to his community and was an accomplished wood worker (avocation) and that's what he looked forward to doing upon his retirement. But, it wasn't meant to be. He suffered a debilitating stroke a few months after he retired from Lyondell/Chemplex and his health has been gradually declining the last few years. He enjoyed volunteering for RSVP and also at the Clinton County Court House for the judicial department.

The bright spot in his life has always been his family. He is survived by his wife: Ruth of Clinton; three daughters: Peyton Keiller of Moline, Paige (Dave) Orr, of Trimble, Missouri, and Kim (Trevor) Willis of Camanche; five grandchildren: Alexander Keiller, Kelton & Kendall Orr, and Audreyanna & Jared Smith; two brothers: Paul (Elisabeth) Keiller of Albany, Illinois, Stephen “Mike” (Judy) Keiller of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister: Vicki (Carroll) Curboy of Mount Carroll, Illinois, several nieces and nephews, his aunt Joan (Gene) Reeser of Clinton; his beloved dog Samantha and friend Sean Luett of Clinton.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials can be made to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities or RSVP.
