Kent L. Fishwild, 84, of Clinton, passed away, Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus – Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 10:30am, Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Following the visitation the body will be cremated. Private family burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Kent L. Fishwild was born on January 5, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Leslie and Elma (Hasty) Fishwild. He was a 1948 graduate of Clinton High School and a 1952 graduate of Coe College. He spent a year at the University of Wisconsin – Madison prior to attending the University of Iowa graduate program.

Kent served in the United States Army from 1952-1954. He married Lois Gilpin on September 14, 1958 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Kent was employed at Clinton Corn in the sales department for over 20 years retiring in 1982. He was also director associate with the Benevolent Society and served as President of the Board of Directors.

Kent was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and superintendent of the Sunday School.

Kent is survived by his wife: Lois of Clinton; three sons, Kurt (Gina Haddock) Fishwild of Davenport, Iowa, Jon (Sara) Fishwild of Oregon, Wisconsin, and Brett Fishwild of Ohio; 4 grandchildren; one brother: Owen (Elaine) Fishwild of Clinton.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Memorials can be made to the Benevolent Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
