Darryl L. Sexton age 62 of Clinton passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Genesis East Hospital, Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Darryl was born in Clinton on March 4, 1952, the son of Lewis William and Mary Ann (Klare) Sexton. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1971. Darryl married Judy Witt on October 30, 1971 in Clinton. He had been employed with 3M in Cordova for 36 years. Darryl was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church and had been a Little League coach for several years, leading the Cubs to the city championship. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, boating, visiting the casino and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren and watching baseball and football.

Darryl was the most kind, caring person you will ever meet. If there was a picture in the Dictionary for the best father, husband, and papa his picture should be there. He’s never had an enemy his whole life. He was truly a saint and he will be missed greatly.

Darryl is survived by his wife, Judy; five children, Michelle (Mike) Kirst of Clinton, Mike Sexton (Mary) of Clinton, Misty (Jeremy) Drury of Camanche, Mandy (Nate) Kagemann of Camanche and Darryl L. Sexton, Jr. of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Jake, Mason, Mitchell, Maddy, Tori and Nolan; six sisters, Marcia Heath, Cherie Creed, Beth (Jim) Lundeen, Renee Geary, Mary (Bob) Stone and Kelly (Mick) Weston all of Clinton; two brothers, David (Margie) Sexton and Dan Sexton both of Camanche and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
