MURDOCH, HOLLERAN, CORLISS, PRENTISS

The Clinton Herald; December 17 (p. 5) & 19 (p. 9), 1941 Mrs. W. F. Murdoch, 75, died at 3 o'clock this morning after an illness --- became --- 10 weeks ago. She resided at 561 Fifth Avenue South. The body reposes in the Shadduck funeral home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with Dr. Bruce McCullough of First Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Mary Ellen Holleran, daughter of the late James S. and Adelia Holleran was born Aug. 11, 1866, in St. Louis, Mo. She came to Fulton, Ill, with her paretns as a small child and made her home there until her marriage to William F. Murcdoch Feb. 2 1886, in Fulton. She resided in Clinton the last 37 years and was prominent in musical circles. She was graduated from Northern Illinois college in Fulton and later studied music in Chicago Musical college. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church, and an honorary member of the Clinton Harmonic club and the Clinton Women's club. She is survived by a daughter, Miss Helen A. Murdoch, and a son, William T. Murdoch, both of Davenport; two sisters, Mrs. Burce Corliss of Eagle Grove and Mrs. C.L. Prentiss of Omaha, Nebr.; one brother, F.L. Holleran of Clinton, and nieces and nephews. Her husband preceded her in death, Dec. 4, 1930.
