The Clinton Daily Herald Monday April 25, 1910 p. 2 DeWitt April 25 John B. Stevens died Friday morning at the Mercy hospital, Davenport, says the Times, at 1:30 o'clock after a prolonged illness at the age of eighty-five years. He was born in Belgium, March 4, 1825, came to America forty years ago, directly to DeWitt, from which point he moved to Davenport eleven years ago, and where he has resided up to the time of his death. The disceased was united in marriage twenty seven years ago and is survived by his wife, Mary, and the following children and step daughters. Four daughters, Mrs. Sophia Norman of Mineral, Ill. and Henrietta, Nellie and Margarete, of this city and two sins Peter Stevens of Moline, Ill., and Leonard of South African. And two step daughters, Anna Black of Chicago and Mary Black of Davenport. The funeral was held from the late residence 622 1-2 West Eighth street, Monday morning with srvices at 9 o'clock at St.Anthony's church with burial in St. Marguerites cemetery.
